About nostalgia, metaphor, reality, dreams and despair for a city of memories
Once upon a time in Srinagar There was a PESTONJEE KA GHODA. It used to be on a permanent sentry duty outside the only branch office of the Bank of Baroda in Srinagar. First it lost it's tail and than all it's limbs part by part and year by year. Now I hear, the place where Pestonjee's loyal white horse once stood guard has been turned into a shopping mall. I wonder what else will be lost in the years when I am away and if time will be ever kind to my memories of Srinagar.
